Subaru BRZ gets early sales incentives as cheaper Scion FRS outsells it

If you’ve tried to weasel your way into a Subaru BRZ for a test drive lately, you likely know just how hard it is to get your hands on one of the machines. The rear-wheel-drive coupes are flying off of dealer lots as quickly as they arrive, but according to USA Today, a spot of sibling rivalry has pushed Subaru to offer a small incentive on the BRZ already. Customers are already ponying up an average of $29,085 for each BRZ model sold. Compare that to the $25,653 average transaction price for the virtually-identical Scion FR-S, and you can see why Subaru offered a $400 incentive on the BRZ in June.

The FR-S, meanwhile, moved with no cash on the hood.

The two companies have very different approaches to selling the cars, however. Scion offers the FR-S in one standard trim in either manual or automatic guise, while Subaru offers two trims. The more expensive of those includes niceties like leather seating, automatic climate control and a proximity key, but compare base model to base model and the Subaru is $1,315 more than its Scion twin.
According to USA Today, Scion sold 2,684 FR-S models across 1,000 dealers in the U.S. last month. By comparison, Subaru sold 818 BRZ units over the company’s 600 dealers.

2013 Acura TL Special Edition Adds Tech

In the luxury sedan market, the 2013 Acura TL holds its own against some powerful competition. With the new Special Edition that will be in dealerships across the country soon, the 2013 TL may be even better equipped to steal buyers away from the likes of Cadillac and BMW.

The 2013 TL Special Edition will add technology and design features for a slight price increase, as opposed to doing so with their more expensive Technology Package and Advance Package. The new Special Edition is only a $1,500 increase over the standard model, making the 2013 Acura TL competitive with its chief rivals at a fraction of their cost.

The new 2013 Acura TL Special Edition will retail for $37,405 MSRP, adding a Keyless Access System, new wheels and design accents, and very well-equipped technology. Adding all of the standard equipment in the Special Edition would normally hike up the price point quite a bit, but Acura has packaged them together to practically make them available as standard.

The Keyless Access System in particular gives the 2013 TL Special Edition an elevated presence in its class. The car can be locked, unlocked and started without ever using a key – as long as the driver has it nearby. Normally reserved for luxury cars that are far more expensive, the Keyless Access System alone brings incredible value to the 2013 TL Special Edition.

Also standard are ten-spoke, 18-inch wheels, a color-matched rear lip spoiler and Special Edition badging throughout. Four metallic versions of black, white and silver paint are available with an interior swathed in Ebony leather and contrasting stitching.

With its new standard features and attractive price, competitors that offer these features at a premium add-on price like the Cadillac ATS and BMW 3-Series should take heed.

Solid Auto Repair Advice For Resolving Problems With Your Automobile

The need for auto repair terrifies many people. The more you know about auto repair, the easier it is to ensure that your car gets the treatment it deserves. The article below contains the information you need to know.

One of the most important qualifications to look for in a mechanic is the ASE certification. This means the technician has completed a test and has more than two years of experience. This means a top professional is doing your repairs.

The best way to find a good auto mechanic is getting referrals. Speak with others you know to see if they can recommend someone to you. You can gain information about prices and level of quality. You can find out about the experience with a mechanic and if they can be trusted or not.

Each time you get your vehicle repaired, no matter what the reason, be sure you have a record of it. If further issues develop later, the mechanic may want to see the historical documentation of what has already been done. Without them, you may end up paying for more diagnostic tests, and it will be more difficult to learn where the issue is stemming from.

Make sure that you specifically request OEM parts. These parts are issued by the manufacturer of your vehicle. Generic parts might be cheaper, but they may not be good enough quality. Though you may think you are getting a deal with generic parts, in the long run, you will end up paying double than you would have if you had gotten OEM parts.

Learn to change your taillights and headlights. In some vehicles, this repair is easier than in others. But, if you can do it yourself, you will save money. Ask whether someone you know can show you how to fix it.

Talk to your friends about their auto repair experiences before choosing a repair shop. Your loved ones might have some good recommendations for you to check out. Even after getting a few names, though, do your research. At the minimum, take a look online to see what others are saying about the shop as well.

Don't try to diagnose complicated issues. Remember, you're not a professional. What you may think is an easy fix may be a hard one, especially if your car is newer. To be sure that the job is done right, have an auto repair shop diagnose the issue. Tell them every detail and let them do the rest.

Be sure your mechanic has proper certification. Look for the seal of approval from automotive institutes. You will get better service if you go to a mechanic who has been approved by this organization.

Dealing with car repairs is a vexing issue for millions of Americans. Nearly everyone has to do it eventually, though. You can take the stress out of it by following the advice in this article. Knowledge is power. Use the tips from this article and you will be able to get quality service for your vehicle.

Solid Tips And Tricks For Repairing Your Auto

Are you dealing with a car repair problem right now? If you reading this, there is a good chance you are. The following article will present some great tips and advice on many automotive problems. Nobody is born as a mechanic and that means everyone needs to learn how to fix a vehicle if they want to know how. Keep reading for some useful tips on how to keep your vehicle in good shape.

Check your coolant levels frequently. Run your engine for several minutes, and then turn it off and pop your hood. Do not lift the radiator lid when the engine is running or if it is too hot. Look to see what the fluid level is (use a dipstick), and remember that coolant needs to have a bit of water added prior to entering your radiator.

You don't always need a repair-person for your car troubles. Many things are able to be fixed easily. If you wish to take a shot at it yourself, get online and see if you're able to figure out what's going on. It isn't all that hard, and you can really save lots of money by repairing your car yourself.

Referrals can be helpful for finding an auto mechanic. Ask the people you know for their recommendations. You can gain information about prices and level of quality. You'll get a real feel for the experience and the honesty of the mechanic.

Look over the manual that came with your car. This will help you when it comes time for you to visit your mechanic if a major problem occurs. You may also find answers to your problems, inside.

Don't leave valuables in your car while you're having it repaired. Some of these items may need to be removed so the mechanic can do his work, and the shop is not responsible if anything is lost. Also, remove everything from the trunk.

Look out for obvious "red flags" when dealing with a new auto repair company. If they avoid your questions, you may want to look elsewhere. You should feel like you can trust them, so don't fear seeing someone else.

Keep in mind that going to the dealer is not something you have to do if you want a vehicle fixed. There are great technicians everywhere, whether you take your car to the shop ten minutes from your home or whether you go on in to your dealer. Find someone who you are comfortable with and stick with them.

If you are on a budget and need auto repairs, consider looking into services offered by local vocational institutions. There your car will be worked on by students learning their craft. They are inexperienced, of course, but they will be under the watchful eye of a trained, experienced mechanic.

This article provided you with a ton of information on car repairs. While you aren't an expert yet, you're well on your way. Go forward knowing that you have what it takes to take car repairs head on.

Mikkelsen eighth on sombre Barum Czech Rally Zlin

Andreas Mikkelsen finished 8th on the Barum Czech Rally Zlín in his factory-prepared ŠKODA UK Motorsport Fabia S2000 to maintain his lead in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.

Juho Hänninen (ŠKODA Motorsport) won the event as the first six places were filled with ŠKODA Fabia S2000s, although the podium celebrations and final stage (SS15) were cancelled as a mark of respect following an accident on SS13 that claimed the life of a spectator. ŠKODA UK Motorsport would like to extend its condolences to all those involved in the tragic accident.

Changeable weather during Leg 1 made tire choice exceptionally difficult, and Andreas lost 14.4 seconds on Friday night’s opening superspecial stage around Zlín city centre when rain offered little grip to his slick tires.
Saturday’s constantly changing weather continued to make tire choice a lottery, although Andreas was one of the best to master the slippery conditions as he and co-driver Ola Fløene took the lead after setting fastest times on SS4.

The ŠKODA UK Motorsport Fabia S2000’s technical set-up was perfect for the twisty narrow asphalt roads. However, the Tesák stage had a slippery section with very long and fast corners, which didn’t suit the set-up so well, meaning that Andreas dropped 33.4 seconds to leader Hänninen over its two runs (SS7/9).

Andreas started Sunday’s second and final leg in 3rd place, but lost almost five minutes on the day’s opening stage when he clipped a curb at a left hand corner and had to stop twice to replace punctured front and rear right tires.
Having dropped to 10th, Andreas had worked his way up to 8th before the rally was stopped one stage before scheduled.

Andreas:“It’s been a difficult weekend with a lot of difficult tire choices, which I don’t think anyone has got right all of the time. I went in a new direction with my set-up before the rally, and maybe that wasn’t the way to go because the car felt better on Leg 2 when we changed it back. I struggled a little in the wet, but in the dry I felt more confident and I was a lot more competitive. A lot of the time I was happy with my performance. The team did a fantastic job, the Fabia S2000 was perfect and we scored what may prove to be some very important points.”

Car Repair Is Easy With Tips Like These

Your car may be a crucial investment since you need it to get to work and back, among other places. Perhaps you'd like to learn a little bit more about cars. If this is so, keep reading to find out about auto repair.

Don't underestimate how important it is to keep an emergency kit inside your car. You ought to assemble a kit consisting of tire change tools, battery charger and a gas can. Bring a blanket and flashlights too, in case you are stranded.

When you are shopping for a repair shop, take into consideration whether they have worked on the same type of car as yours. If they have, there is a good chance they will be able to repair your car.

You must keep good track of all your car records. Some people keep this paperwork in the glove compartment of their car so it is readily available, if needed. Auto service experts may need to refer to them. The records can help them figure out the problem.

Test drive your vehicle after repairs before paying the auto repair shop. If you don't, you may still experience the same problem with the car once you get it home.

A spare tire and a jack need to be in your vehicle all of the time. Most new cars come with them. You wouldn't want to get a simple flat and have to shell out lots of money to a tow truck. It is simpler and cheaper to handle it on your own.

It is a good idea to keep a small set of tools in the back of your car for minor repairs on the road. For instance, if anything dealing with tire changes came with the car, have this in your car. You need to get yourself a lug nut wrench and a jack, as well. Your tool kit should contain these items: socket wrenches, ratcheting tools, a wrench for torque and one that is adjustable, and both a Phillips and a flat head screwdriver as well. Never skimp when buying tools. Invest in quality tools that don't break in the middle of a critical repair.

Consider finding someone who repairs cars in their own garage. As long as they have experience they can do the same work but they often charge far less for the labor. This can help the home mechanic out and save you a lot of money over the charges of bigger repair shops.

You don't necessarily have to visit the dealer in order to get your auto repairs done. Great mechanics abound in local garages. If you are more comfortable with one of them, by all means use them.

Keep in mind that any DIY auto repairs can be dangerous. Always have someone close at hand to help you in case of emergency. Only invest in the best tools available. Tire changing equipment definitely needs to be high grade. The jack must hold the vehicle securely and safely. Do you really want to get under your car with a poorly made or faulty jack? A hydraulic floor jack featuring approved stands is best for these situations.

It is important to look after your vehicle and maintain it regularly. By learning the simplest maintenance, such as performing your own oil changes, you can save a lot of cash. Use these tips and remember them next time your car is doing something strange or you have reason to worry.

Learn This Helpful Advice When Dealing With Auto Repairs.

Does your car need repairs? Even if this isn't something that you need, you probably know how it feels. You may be feeling overwhelmed because you're not sure of what to do. How can you tell what is the best option? Read on and learn what steps you need to take with regards to auto repair.

Do not let a mechanic work on your vehicle unless they are A.S.E. certified. An ASE certification means your mechanic has a minimum of two years' experience in auto repairs. This certification also requires that he or she passes a written test. This is a good way of finding a qualified mechanic who will care about doing a good job so they can keep their certification.

Always ask lots of questions at the shop where you are getting your car repaired. You should ask things specific to the problem that has arisen and how you can take preventive action going forward. Preventative measures will save you a whole lot of money in the long run.

Referrals will lead you to a great mechanic. Get recommendations from family and friends. This allows you to ask about the price, quality of work and satisfaction. People can tell you what type of experience they had and whether the mechanic was honest or not.

Every time you have your car fixed, regardless of the reason, you should take note of it. These past invoices can help the mechanic to diagnose your car if need be. You might end up paying more if you don't have them, because it will be more difficult to diagnose the issue.

Be aware of a mechanic who makes unneeded repairs to your car. Good mechanics will inform you if parts need replacing or will need replacing in the near future; however, they should not actually take the extra step and replace parts without your knowledge and approval. Never take your vehicle to a mechanic that preforms unnecessary repairs.

Do not leave any items in your vehicle if you are taking it to be repaired. To get the job done, mechanics may have to remove your things and if something should end up missing, they cannot be held responsible. Also, be sure to remove everything from the trunk.

When visiting a repair shop, be mindful of warning signs that the shop is not a good one. If they do not answer you directly, you may want to find someone else. It is good to feel like you trust your mechanic, so move on if you don't feel like you can.

When your headlights or taillights burn out, you can save a lot of money on repairs if you do it yourself. It is easier on some vehicles than others, however no matter what type of vehicle you hav

Finding the best solution for auto repair can be simple by following the tips above. Of course, you should keep learning new things concerning this subject. Becoming knowledgeable about auto repairs is definitely an advantage, and it will help you save a lot.

e it will be cheaper than hiring a mechanic for the job. Ask someone you trust if he can teach you how to fix these problems.

Volkswagen driver Ogier and his co-driver Ingrassia finished 7th in the Acropolis Rally

Supreme performance in the land of the Gods: Volkswagen driver Sébastien Ogier and his co-driver Julien Ingrassia finished seventh in the Acropolis Rally, the sixth round of the FIA World Rally Championship.

As a result, Ogier scored six World Championship points and presented Volkswagen with its sixth consecutive class victory in the Super 2000 category. The 22 gravel stages provided everything that makes a genuine classic: coarse almost gravel-like subsoil with melon-sized boulders as well as alternating fast and very dusty sections. Everything was made even more difficult by the changeable weather conditions in the mountains overlooking the Greek Mediterranean coast. In a word: another good opportunity for the Volkswagen team to prepare for its entry into the FIA World Rally Championship with the Polo R WRC.

"The Acropolis Rally is one of the real classics in the World Rally Championship and also represents the toughest test in this year's calendar. For our team the perfect venue to prepare for the forthcoming year with Polo R WRC,”explained Volkswagen Motorsport Director Jost Capito. "Our team performed exceptionally well. The rally made huge demands of both man and machine: the drivers had to find a balance between speed and safety; at the same time a great deal of work awaited the crew during the short service breaks. We take a lot of valuable experience home which will go into the ongoing preparations for 2013.”

Sebastién Ogier set the pace in the Super 2000 class and even beat several more powerful WRC cars again. The rough nature of the stages covering a distance of 409.47 kilometres did not, however, leave his Fabia unscathed – Ogier and Ingrassia quickly changed a bent track rod between two stages and later on even repaired a leak in the steering system. "We can be really satisfied with the result,” says the 28-year old Frenchman who won the same rally last year in a WRC car. "The Acropolis is one of the most famous rallies and was hard work this year due to the changing weather. We achieved the maximum with our Fabia S2000. The rally with its long days was also a real challenge for our team and I can only thanks and congratulate the crew for its performance.”

For Andreas Mikkelsen and Ola Fløene their Greek debut ended early: the Norwegian duo had to retire due to damaged suspension after the 18th stage while running in tenth place. "On the one hand I'm very satisfied, and on the other somewhat disappointed,” summarized the 22-year old Mikkelsen. "We were able to collect experience on the stages which were completely new to us and also see that we could essentially maintain the pace of our team mates. On the other hand there is our late retirement: I misunderstood a statement for Ola and went into a corner too quickly. When I noticed I braked, but sideswiped a rock and damaged the left rear suspension.”

The brake system, which replicates the system fitted to the Quattroporte Sport GT S and uses dual-cast technology, is further enhanced by the hand-polished calipers both at the front and rear. With the Quattroporte Sport GT S “Awards Edition”, Maserati and Brembo are introducing on the market for the first time polished calipers, treated with precision mechanical processes and featuring a hand finish which gives them their special mirror-like appearance and enhances their sporty credentials at the same time.

Follow This Great Article About Auto Repair To Help You

A car is quite an important possession. Because your car is so important to you, you need to learn as much about it as you can. Go over this article for some useful auto repair tips.

Check your tire pressure every time you fill up your gas tank. Check for foreign debris that may be embedded in your tires too. If you notice problems, resolve them immediately. You don't want to drive around with damaged tires.

Before you drop off your car at a repair shop, take pictures of what the car looks like beforehand. Most shops are reputable but there are always a few bad apples out there. You should document what the vehicle looks like in case you experience this terrible thing.

You need to learn more about different car parts before taking your vehicle to a repair shop. Parts can be classified as salvaged, rebuilt, reconditioned, and re-manufactured, and new. New parts are the ones that you want to have installed on your vehicles. Rebuilt and reconditioned and re-manufacturered parts have been restored to working condition. Salvage parts just means used parts without any type of alterations.

Even if your car only seems to have a small issue going on, you should definitely have it looked at. Ignoring small issues can sometimes cause them to grow larger.

When auto repair issues are complicated, don't diagnose them yourself. Keep in mind that you are not a professional. A minor issue can spiral into a huge dilemma. To be sure that the job is done right, have an auto repair shop diagnose the issue. Give them all the details on what occurred and what you heard, but leave the final diagnosis to them.

A warranty is one of the most important things you'll need for car repairs. Ask the mechanic beforehand what the warranty will be for any part, but especially the expensive ones. Ask about the lentgh of time of the warranty and for a contract in writing to review it.

Make sure that your technician has the proper certification. In particular, you should look to see that the National Institute for Automotive Excellence has given him or her their seal of approval. This also will help you feel confident that the quality of your repair will be up to par.

Some untrustworthy shops will give you old tires in the place of your original tires. Some shops will try to squeeze every dollar out of you. Take a piece of chalk and mark the tires prior to dropping off your vehicle. Look for the chalk when you pick up your car.

If you need to have your car fixed, but you don't have a lot of cash on hand, think about asking a local vocational school if they have an auto repair class. You will get an excellent rate and your car will be fixed by an instructor and students in training.

As stated earlier, it is important for you to take care of your vehicle. Learning about the simplest of repairs can help you save money. Remember these tips when you feel like something's wrong with your car.

Lotus Engineering adds lightness to a Crossover Utility Vehicle

  • Results show a total vehicle mass reduction of 31% (528.3 kg or 1,162 lbs.) and a $239 (£150 / €188) saving in overall vehicle cost.
  • Body structure utilizes advanced materials including high-strength steels, aluminum, magnesium and composites along with high tech joining and bonding techniques.
Following on from Lotus’ successful “Phase One” study, published in 2010, which looked at the empirical and theoretical weight saving for a standard CUV, Lotus Engineering conducted further research to confirm if a lightweight and commercially feasible body structure has the potential to meet or exceed the requirements for size, luggage volume, comfort, crashworthiness and structural integrity.

Lotus Engineering’s “Phase Two” body structure design was based on the dimensions of a 2009 Toyota Venza CUV and utilized advanced materials such as high-strength steels, aluminum, magnesium and composites along with advanced joining and bonding techniques to achieve a substantial body and overall vehicle mass reduction without degrading size, practicality or performance.  The body mass was reduced by 37% (311 lbs. or 141.6 kg), which contributed to a total vehicle mass reduction of 31% (1,162 lbs. or 528.3 kg) including the mass savings of other vehicle systems (interior, suspension, chassis, closures, etc.) that had previously been identified in “Phase One”.

The detailed Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) analysis undertaken indicated that a 31% mass-reduced vehicle with a 37% lighter Body-in-White (BIW) structure has the potential to meet U.S. Federal impact requirements. This includes side impact and door beam intrusion, seatbelt loading, child seat tether loadings, front and rear chassis frame load buckling stability, full frontal crash stiffness and body compatibility and frame performance under low-speed bumper impact loads as defined by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The result is a BIW design with a 20% increase in torsional stiffness over the class leading CUV.

Although the significant mass savings in the BIW design results in an increased BIW cost of $723 (£456 / €568), the overall vehicle cost is reduced through savings of $239 (£150 / €188) identified across the whole vehicle and when manufacturing and assembly costs are included in the analysis. A significant reduction in the parts count from 269 to 169, achieved by an increased level of component integration, also helped offset the increased BIW piece cost.

The background to the study

In April 2010, Lotus Engineering concluded the first phase of a study which substantiated that a reduction in vehicle mass could be achieved for medium production volume vehicles (approximately 50,000 units per year) with a 23% reduction in fuel consumption. In September 2010 the California Air Resources Board (CARB) commissioned Lotus Engineering to initiate Phase Two of the study and take a deeper look into the future of lighter, more efficient vehicles manufactured using lighter yet stronger materials.

Lotus has always been about Lightweight

When Lotus founder Colin Chapman coined the phrase “performance through light weight” he was referring to much more than mere accelerative performance.  In the broader sense he meant that a lighter vehicle does everything better, including being more fuel efficient.  Over the past 60-plus years, Lotus road and racing vehicles have consistently benefited from this core philosophy and Lotus has developed a strong reputation as a leader in lightweight vehicle technologies.

After decades of most manufacturers building increasingly heavy, feature-laden cars, now the very aggressive corporate average fuel economy (CAFÉ) standards increasing from a target of 35.5 mpg in 2016 to 54.5 in 2025 have all manufacturers reevaluating the virtues of mass reduction and prioritizing the materials, technologies and production methods that will enable lighter, stronger and more efficient vehicles.

Land Rover Demonstrates World's First 9-Speed Automatic

  • Land Rover announces the latest in 65 years of technical world firsts with the new ZF 9HP transmission
  • The world's first 9-speed automatic transmission results in significant improvements in real world fuel economy
  • Lower ratios further enhance Land Rover's renowned all-terrain and all-weather capability
  • Innovative adaptive shift system matches and remembers customer driving style for a tailored driving experience
  • Land Rover is lead partner on this project with ZF, world leader in transmission technology
Land Rover will demonstrate the latest in a long line of technical firsts at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show with the announcement of the world's first 9-speed automatic transmission for a passenger car.  The ZF 9HP transmission is specifically designed for transverse applications, and is one of the most efficient and technically advanced transmissions ever used in a production vehicle.
Land Rover is the lead partner on the project, working together with ZF who are widely recognized as the world leader in transmission technology.
Increasing the number of gear ratios from six to nine gives significant improvement in fuel economy and a corresponding reduction in CO2 emissions. Smaller ratio steps give improved response during acceleration, improved shift quality, drive and refinement.  The higher top gear not only reduces fuel consumption but the lower engine revs improve comfort and reduce noise when cruising at high speed.
The 9HP is extremely robust and perfectly complements Land Rover's rugged all-terrain ability whilst delivering exceptionally high levels of refinement and efficiency.
The 9HP is extremely robust and perfectly complements Land Rover's rugged all-terrain ability whilst delivering exceptionally high levels of refinement and efficiency.  The lowest ratio in the 9HP is far lower than the existing six-speed transmission and is specifically designed for off-road use, towing and more extreme on-road conditions like gradients and altitude, giving the driver a heightened sense of control.
With extremely fast gear changes described by ZF as being: 'below the threshold of perception', the 9HP is not only highly responsive but versatile too.  Whereas the existing six-speed transmission makes shifts sequentially, the 9HP has a skip-shift function for much swifter downshifting under rapid deceleration or from greater driver input demands.  The torque converter incorporates a multi-stage damper system for smoother pulling away and improved refinement.
"We are extremely excited about the 9HP which has been tailored exactly to dovetail with the unique attributes of our vehicles. It will add another layer of performance, refinement and efficiency, further enhancing Land Rover's world class abilities,"said John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director.
The innovative adaptive shifting system matches the driver's mood within seconds, sharpening up during brisk driving then slipping seamlessly into a more economical regime just as quickly when taking a more relaxed approach.  Curve Mode, longitudinal acceleration and pedal position all control upshift prevention.
Fast-Off mode measures the rate of throttle release, anticipates further requests by the driver for high power, then holds the gear if necessary.  If the driver requests a downshift when the vehicle is travelling too fast, the transmission will remember the request and make the shift when the speed drops to an appropriate level.
The 9HP is a masterpiece of packaging and despite the extra three gear ratios is only 6mm longer and weighs 7.5kg less than the outgoing six-speed transmission.
The 9HP is a masterpiece of packaging and despite the extra three gear ratios is only 6mm longer and weighs 7.5kg less than the outgoing six-speed transmission.  The small package space is achieved by a number of innovative design features including a new hydraulic vane-type pump which also contributes to improved efficiency, two, patented, dog clutches replacing bulkier conventional clutch packs, and an Intelligently Nested gear set.
Land Rover was chosen by ZF, one of the world's most technically advanced transmission manufacturers, to be the lead partner on the 9HP and Land Rover engineers have worked in partnership with ZF engineers to jointly develop the transmission to suit the brand.  The Land Rover transmission engineering team is already extremely experienced in engineering ZF products to suit Land Rover vehicles having integrated the 8HP with the Range Rover, Land Rover Discovery 4 and Range Rover Sport.  The 9HP is produced at ZF's Gray Court facility in South Carolina.

The Lamborghini Miura P 400 SV

Steady demand for the Miura S prompted Lamborghini to introduce a more advanced version called the SV (Super Veloce). This occurred during development of the subsequent, revolutionary model called the Countach LP 500, which made its worldwide debut in the spring of 1971. The Miura P 400 SV was equipped with a 4 liter, 385 HP V12 engine and attained a maximum speed of over 290 kmh.

Lamborghini Miura P 400 SV stood out for its new rear suspension, wider track and more powerful engine

Although it lacked the signature “eyebrows” over the headlamps, the SV stood out for its new rear suspension, wider track and more powerful engine. And unlike previous models, it was equipped with separate lubrication. The last Miura produced in January 1973 was purchased by a famous Italian industrialist. 150 of these remarkable cars were built from 1971 to 1972.

Educate Yourself On Auto Repair With These Tips

Do you need vehicle repairs but like to avoid hassles? Getting the right work done on your car can be exhausting before you ever see a mechanic. It's hard to know the right place to take your car, or to know if you can do the repair yourself. Take some time to read the tips ahead to learn what you can do for your vehicle.

One of the biggest issues reported by automobile rescue clubs is running out of gasoline. While this may seem comical or a mere inconvenience on a busy day, you could actually be causing real damage to your engine by allowing the fuel level to get so low. You could end with major auto repair bills as a result of this careless act.

Do all the research you can on auto repair shops in your area before selecting one. Find out the services they provide, how professional they are, and their prices. In addition, do not neglect checking out online customer reviews so that you can see how well they satisfy their customers. Unfortunately, all auto shops are not the same, so you need to pick the best one.

If you are looking to extend your car's life, do not accelerate too quickly immediately after starting it up. Especially in cold weather, racing the engine of your car will result in it deteriorating more quickly and contributing to accelerated wear and tear. Rather, accelerate slowly when you begin to drive.

Consider how well kept an auto repair shop is when making your decisions. A sloppy shop can be a sign that the workmanship you're about to receive will be pretty sloppy as well. Opt for the auto repair shop that keeps its floors and space clean of tools and rubble. It's not a guarantee of great workmanship, but it's a sure sign that your chances are better that you'll receive the service levels you'd like.

Be certain that the mechanic who performs your auto repairs is certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence. ASE certification is offered two times a year to mechanics who have two years of experience working as auto mechanics. It is a written test that helps identify competent auto mechanics.

Your car owners manual is actually a valuable guide to the workings of your car. That means that you should not trash it as soon as you leave the dealer. It can tell you everything from what that light on your dash means, to how to perform basic maintenance on your particular model.

Paint doesn't bond well with rust, so keep touch-up paint nearby to immediately apply over small scratches and nicks. If you wait too long to apply the touch-up paint, the scratch will have already began to rust and you the paint won't stick. Apply the paint quickly and cover the spot to prevent the rust from accumulating.

The confusion and discomfort of car repairs can leave you wanting to purchase a new vehicle. Take the time to make use of the suggestions and ideas in this piece. You will find that repairs for your car are not so tough to face. Keep your vehicle longer and enjoy it more through this valued advice.

Auto Repair Tips To Get Your Vehicle Up And Running

It's no secret that auto repair costs a lot of money. Complicated repairs and simple repairs alike can both cause you to lose your hard earned money. That's why you need every advantage possible to reduce the cost of your auto repair bills. In this article, you will find tips that can help you save money on auto repairs.

If you take your car to an auto repair shop to get one thing fixed and they tell you that other repairs are needed, thank them for the information and decline the additional services. Go to several other places and get quotes before allowing them to do any more work on your car.

When you top off your motor oil, avoid spilling oil on your engine by wadding up a couple of paper towels around the oil receptacle on the crank-case. This will absorb drips and spills. Be sure to dispose of your empty oil container and the paper towels responsibly when finished adding oil.

If you take your car into a shop, expect to be asked about additional service. However, you don't have to take them up on this. Simply get done what you need to get done. If you feel someone is pressuring you too much, move on. While it is their job to try and sell you on as much as possible, you need to feel good with whoever you are working with.

Understand the billing process at the auto repair shop you go to. In many cases, you could get a bill for labor based on how long the manufacturer thinks it will take to repair your car. Be clear about how it works at whatever shop you take your car to.

To save a trip to the auto repair shop, you should take a look at your owner's manual. Here, you may find hints or perhaps answers to questions you may have about your vehicle. It can be quite helpful to know the size of your engine or its configuration, which is usually found in the manual.

Always exercise the highest level of caution when working with your car's fuel system. Never work around fuel tanks, fuel lines or pumps with sources of ignition such as cigarettes or anything that could produce a spark. Wipe up any fuel spills immediately, and protect yourself by wearing fuel-resistant gloves and eyewear.

Ask about the warranties associated with any new parts going into your car. Most new parts will include a warranty. If something goes wrong with that part after the repair, you'll be covered for the replacement. Know how long the warranty is good for and if there are any stipulations tied to it.

Listen to your gut. If you bring your car into the shop and the technician doesn't seem to be on the up and up, consider going somewhere else. At the very least, the person probably doesn't care that much about you and your car, and you deserve better service than that.

You may need auto repair, but you don't have to break the bank to get it done. There are legitimate ways that you can give your car the repairs it needs while staying within your budget. This article will come in handy, so use it and keep your car running smoothly for less.

2014 Cadillac CTS Teasers Surface

Set to have its official debut later this week at the New York Auto Show, images of the new 2014 Cadillac CTS have made their way online. However, these are only a series of teaser shots that were more than likely released by the automaker itself. But still, from what we can tell the car is going to be quite a stunner. In particular take note of the elegant yet aggressive lines along the hood that continue to lead directly into the front grille, which itself is complimented by vertical LED light strips that are angled downward.

The rear end design is more familiar, as it looks similar to those of the XTS and ATS. LED taillamps are featured prominently as is a center-mounted LED brake light. There’s just one shot of the interior but it’s clear that everything inside will be of high quality with plenty of wood, leather and suede. The new CTS is expected to be powered by a choice of three engines: a 2.0-liter turbo four, a 3.6-liter V6 and a turbocharged 3.6-liter V6, the latter of which will be paired to an eight-speed automatic - a GM first. Full coverage and official images and specs of the new Cadillac CTS will likely follow soon, so stay tuned.

Buy Your Next Car With Confidence Thanks To This Article

Everyone loves the new car smell of the dealership, but not everyone feels the same about the process of buying a vehicle. The greatest way to get a good deal on a vehicle is to figure out what works best for those that you're driving around. Researching is key if you want to get the best out of your search. Keep reading to get useful tips on how to get the car you need.

Consider using your bank to purchase your car. In doing so, you can save hundreds or even thousands of dollars that would be wasted by accepting less generous rates from another lender. Compared to other lenders, you bank's loan is usually the best.

Never sign an As-is warranty when buying a used car. This can be something that you will regret in the future. You should get at least 30 days of warranty with your purchase. If the vehicle needs a major repair a day or two after you buy it, you will have to pay for the repair.

Make plans to spend a lot of time in car dealerships. You do not have to be rushed and go for a deal that is not good. Allowing for an entire afternoon is best. If time is an issue, never hesitate to postpone the process and return another time.

Take any car you plan to buy used from a private seller to a trusted mechanic. If the owner is reluctant to let you do that, walk away. There might be hidden, expensive issues that have a bearing on whether the car is right for you. You shouldn't put yourself in a situation where a surprise may arise.

When buying a car, it's important to do research. In face, you shouldn't even go to a car lot without doing adequate research. You need to find out as much as you can about these cars and about the dealer as well.

Try renting a car in order to test it out. This will help you get a good idea of what it is like to drive. You should go on a small trip in the car. This can help you feel less stressed when purchasing the car.

Before buying a used car, you must have it checked out by a mechanic. That is the only way you are going to know there if something that is wrong with it. If problems are discovered, you should consider another car, or haggle for a lower price if the problems are minor.

If any salesman pressures you, never fear requesting a different one to deal with. You should not let an intimidating or dishonest salesperson show you around a dealership. If you see a vehicle you like but do not want to deal with the salesperson, come back another day.

Purchasing a car can be fun, but it can also be stressful and financially tiring. However, you can prepare by educating yourself on the process so that you know what you're doing. Keep the above facts in mind in order to have an optimal experience.

Get Repairs Done Right With These Car Tips.

 http://www.angieslist.com/files/styles/adslider_full/public/null/cardealership.jpg
It's not hard to learn about how to fix your car. Learning some valuable information on the subject really helps you in sticky situations. This information in this article will allow you to fix your car yourself rather than using a mechanic constantly.

Request a written estimate from mechanics that charge you over $200. If you have written proof, you can easily file complaints if necessary. Your mechanic will not be tempted to add more fees to your final bill if you already have a detailed written quote.

Understand your manual and mark important pages. The auto repair shop people will ask you specific information about your car. You may also find answers to your problems, inside.

Take all the fluffy and fun key chains off, or remove the car key. Your car ignition shouldn't have to hold so much weight. Too much weight on your keychain can cause your key to stick.

Be sure that you have an A.S.E. certified mechanic before they are allowed to work on your vehicle. This means the technician has completed a test and has more than two years of experience. This tells you that the mechanic is qualified to work on your car.

It can be dangerous to repair vehicles on your own. Make sure there is somebody nearby to assist if things go wrong. Spend a little more on tools of high quality that will not fall apart. This is particularly important for tools that you use to change your tires. Make sure that the jack in your car can securely hold up the vehicle so you are safe while using it. Approved jack stands, working in conjunction with a high quality hydraulic floor jack, are the best tools for tire changes.

The belts located in the engine compartment are very important components. If one of the belts breaks while you are driving, you might have to replace your engine. Check belts for holes and cracks and get them replaced as you need. You probably need belt replacements if your car screeches when it starts up.

Always have your car repaired at a shop the manufacturer authorizes. Many maintenance costs are covered by warranties. Keep in mind that going to a different repair shop can void some pats of the warranty you have.

Once you've worked on the brakes, before you take them out to test them you should bleed them. After you do this you should pump your brake fluid. Make sure to watch out for leaks. You can test drive the car safely on low-traffic roads. Go slowly at first until you're certain your repair has been made properly.

If you need to put your car in storage, you can avoid having to pay for repairs by placing the car on jack stands and filling the tank. Store it in a dry area so it doesn't rust, and don't set the parking brake.

Car trouble does not have to be as scary or time consuming as it was in the past, if you know how to fix basic things. You can educate yourself and learn to fix many things yourself. Keep this information in mind when your car acts up again.

Exclusively in the Ferrari Magazine the great English musician talks about his passion for Ferrari and his one-off model.
For a Ferrari enthusiast and great musician like Eric Clapton a one-off car just had to be produced. Designed by the Centro Stile Ferrari in collaboration with Pininfarina and the engineers from Maranello, the SP12 EC was created as homage to Clapton’s career and his long lasting experience as a Ferrari owner.
The world-famous guitar player has been attached to one particular Ferrari model: the 512 BB, of which he has owned three over the years. So his desire was to drive a car inspired by this model, with influences from the multi-award winning 458 Italia. Exclusively in the latest issue of the Ferrari Official Magazine Eric Clapton talks about his passion and how the idea of a one-off car was born.
Meticulous attention in terms of style and technology was paid to the proportions and architecture of the SP12 EC - which is part of Ferrari’s One-Off Programme – making this exceptional car even more significant. Just like music is created, applying the right notes in the right places to build a musical score, so was the creative process behind the SP12 EC.

Finally, Tech Blogging Tips That Are Simple, Quick And Easy

http://www.molly-greene.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/how-to-blog.jpg

You can increase the success of your business or bolster your image by writing meaningful and well-written blogs. Blogging is essential in modern society to achieving any measure of popularity or fame. If you are interested in blogging, this is the perfect article for you.

Make sure you select an SEO-friendly theme. Your blog will attain higher ranking with major search engines and it will also run much smoother. Things move at light speed on the internet and readers wait for nothing, including a great blog that is slowed down with fancy graphics and heavy plug-ins. They will simply hit the "back" button and find another blog without having seen even a little bit of your content.

Guests posts are a great way to build your blog. This will develop a relationship between you and another blog owner, and you never know when that might come in handy. Do not underestimate the power in having good relationships with others. In addition, guest blogging helps build link connections for both sites: they post on your blog, you post on theirs, and you both have fresh content from a new perspective and a backlink to your respective sites.

Keep a top 10 list on your blog of your best work so users can see what your blog focuses on. Your visitors will get a good idea of the type of articles you provide, in addition to increasing your search engine ranking.

Be sure the videos posted to your blog can be played regardless of the person's Internet speed. While your Internet connection may be fast, or your browser up-to-date, your readers may not be so lucky. Keep in mind that if your videos are slow to load for some individuals, it will almost certainly drive them away from your site.

Linking your various posts within the overall content is good blog design. This will help users navigate and will also keep them happy. Your readers will flee if they can't get around your blog through obvious navigation methods!

Condition your readers about what they can expect and when they should expect it. Upload videos or create posts that explain to your visitors how to do these things. If you help someone get started with their own blog, they can use it to help promote yours.

Post your blogs on a schedule and regularly. Posting at predetermined times will have readers anticipating your blog posts. Your viewing audience will enjoy the new content and appreciate the fact that they can predict when it will be posted. Try to write about a wide range of topics on your blog, as this will stop posts from becoming repetitive.

Link building is an important aspect of blogging as well. This is a simple way to help your blog get more traffic. For marketing blogs, readers are money so incoming links are critical.

So, you should be prepared to jump into the exciting world of blogs now. With blogging, there is no end to the possibilities. Just be sure that you always seek out new information, remembering that things are constantly changing when it comes to blogging, and you should have no problem succeeding.
